Reports from iPhone 3G owners suggest that all is not well with the design of Apple’s new handset, with numerous instances of hairline cracks appearing in their plastic cases.
The tech twitchers at Engadget have a heads-up on the problem, with a report that it’s an “increasingly common problem.” Meanwhile, users of the MacRumors forums are reporting similar issues.
The cracks are believed to affect the white version of the iPhone 3G most obviously, since the dark colour of the fracture is more visible.
For the time being, however, the issue seems purely cosmetic, and isn’t affecting the phones’ functions.
