Apple’s released new iPhone firmware to developers, and hidden within its guts are mysterious references to “copy,” “cut” and “paste” functions. Is Apple finally primed to remove one of the iPhone’s most annoying flaws?
According to MacNN, the new iPhone 2.1 firmware contains “entries for several commands the firmware does not currently support, including cutting, copying and pasting.”
In the past, Apple bigwig Greg Joswiak has claimed that adding copy and paste to the iPhone’s operating system has not been a high priority, despite it ranking as one of the most irksome facets of the phone amongst the public.
Could all that be about to change? Only Apple knows for sure, but we hope it sees sense soon.
