ID software boss and gaming legend John Carmack has revealed his firm has something very special in store for the iPhone, and no, it’s not another Doom conversion.
Speaking to Forbes magazine, the games boss said he was disappointed ID couldn’t have something ready for the launch of the App Store, but explained: “We have a title we want to develop exclusively for iPhone… I’m not announcing anything specifically, but it would be a graphical tour de force.”
He clearly hyped over Apple’s handset, explaining that its as powerful as a PlayStation 2, or an original Xbox.
ID already has a mobile division, which has cranked out mobile versions of Doom, Quake and Wolfenstein for phones in the past, but this seems to be something entirely new. Keep it here for more details as they’re revealed.
