Size isn’t everything – there’s apparently even a video of Mini Me doing the rounds to prove it. But when it comes to the Eee PC hard drive, if you opt for a larger model, you could end up with a slower one. Warning: geek graphs lie ahead.
JKKMobile has been knee deep in hard drive tests and after hammering all the numbers into Excel the results don’t make particularly good reading.
Compared to the smaller 4GB and 8GB SSD models, the new 16GB Eee PC 900 is painfully sluggish. It’s even slower than the previous 16GB model, which seems like a step backwards.
The results are so damning that JKKMobile is recommending you don’t buy one – and if you have, return it. Ouch.

The test results graph doesn’t have the axis labeled and doesn’t even show what units the numbers are. What does this represent as a ratio comparing the two?
