Digital radios don’t get more eco-friendly than Pure’s line-up. It’s just announced seven of its DAB sets now have the Energy Saving Recommended badge, with even more to come.
Following the launch of its first ESR radio, the Pure Move, the EVOKE-1S, Siesta, Chronos II, TEMPUS-1S, ONE Mini and the soon-to-be-launched ONE Elite are also now recommended as bonafide energy savers.
Why should you be interested? Because they’re by far the greenest (and cheapest) way of tuning in to digital broadcasts.
Pure says all the radios in its EcoPlus range use a fifth of the power of other DAB radios in standby mode, as well as being more efficient when they’re tuned in. On average, they use five times less energy than listening to digial radio through a laptop, 20 times less than through a desktop computer and a whopping 40 times reduction in energy when compared to a TV tuned in through a Freeview box.
Even the packaging they arrive in is guilt-free, made using a minimum of 70% recycled material, and finished using water-based varnish. The trays inside are 100% recycled, and even the manuals come printed with soya-based ink on recycled paper.
Fancy saving the planet, as well as the cash in your pocket? Then keep ‘em peeled for Pure’s EcoPlus logo.
