A candle probably seems a bit low-tech for Europe’s biggest electronics manufacturer, but Philips has improved on the ancient Egyptian design by using a colour changing LED to, er, make it look nicer.
The candle has changed little since the (very) early beeswax models illuminated our caves back in the day, but the Imageo Wax Candle adds a small battery operated colour changing LED inside a regular long lasting wax candle to enhance the visula appeal. OK, so it might not be quite such an important step in mankind’s development, but the gently changing colours are indeed very nice to look at.
