Reggie Fils-Aime, president of Nintendo of America, has hinted that Grand Theft Auto IV could be coming to the Wii, making arm-swinging car-jacking a real possibility.
We’ve already heard the first GTA to hit the Nintendo DS will be called Grand Theft Auto: China Wars, now it looks like the Wii could follow suit with a GTA of its own.
“A ‘GTA’ on the Wii is all based on what Rockstar and Take Two want to do,” Reggie told MTV.
“And again, from our standpoint, if they build a bottom-up game that takes advantage of what we do well, I’d love to see it on the platform.”
Considering how successful the Wii’s been it’d make sense for Rockstar to embrace it, and just as the DS stylus promises a new aspect to GTA: China Wars, a GTA IV with Wii controls would feel like a totally different game too. Watch this space.

*sigh* why dont you ever think. A gta means not a full fledged version of gta 4 (which would be very hard to get to run on the wii) but something like gta:liberty city stories 2 or something. Take two have declined to comment and they dont seem to be interested at the minute.
