Word reaches us that O2 plans to stop stocking four of its best-selling mobiles next month. Is it coincidence? Or is the network making space for fresh stock of the iPhone 3G?
Omio reports that O2’s Online Marketing Department has issued a memo, stating that the Nokia N95, N95 8GB, Samsung Tocco and Sony Ericsson C902 will be yanked from shelves on July 25th. That’s this Friday.
By August, it’ll have stopped selling them, although they may be “re-introduced as and when” says Omio.
If true, it’s certainly an odd move. The N95 has been a best-selling phone for many months, and continues to shift large numbers. Elsewhere, O2 is expecting more stock of Apple’s iPhone 3G in the coming weeks. Could there be a link?
We’ve contacted O2 for an official comment. Keep it here for more as we hear it.
Thanks to Ernest for the tip!
