In 1962 this 14-inch portable TV was the last word in telly technology. Things have moved on somewhat, but the design by Zanuso and Snapper is a definite classic and its limited edition return is long overdue.
Hotshot designers, Marco Zanuso and Richard Sapper designed the Doney for Brionvega around Europe’s first transistor TV, which allowed it to be much more compact. The modern version has been brought up to date a little, but it’s built around a glass tube, so there’s no HDMI input and it’s definitely not HD Ready.
Design-wise, you simply can’t knock a classic and the fact that just 100 sets have been made in each colour (black, white and orange) and the packaging is made from aluminium will have collectors clamouring.
