Nintendo has finally raised the curtain on its motion-sensitive music sim for the Wii, trumpeting Wii Music as the only way to fit an orchestra into your living room.
The tuneful title will turn the Wiimote and Nunchuk into more than 60 instruments including violins, steel drums and the electric guitar.
There’s even the option to play a full drum kit, with the Wiimote acting as drum sticks, while the Wii Fit balance board works just like drum pedals.
It’s a proper multi-player game too, with up to four people able to form a virtual band and play at once.
Gamers will also get the chance to create their own music, receive pointers on how they play and even send their masterpieces to their chums via WiiConnect24.
Super Mario Bros creator, Shigeru Miyamoto, took to the stage playing the trumpet via the Wiimote and spoke of of making music accessible for all. “We designed Wii Music to allow everyone the joy of performing music.” He said.
There’s no word on a European release yet, but it’ll be hitting the US during the holiday season. That’s Christmas to us Brits.
