Nintendo’s announced three fantastic new games, but here’s the rub: They all use new peripherals. Is Ninty clawing back cash from casual gamers by forcing new accessories on them?
First up is Nintendo’s Wii Sports sequel: Wii Sports Resort. To play its sword-fighting and jet skiing games, you’ll need to use the Wii MotionPlus add-on, which makes the console’s controller more accurate.
Then there’s Wii Music, which needs to use the Wii Fit balance board (sold separately) to control a drum kit.
Lastly, there’s Animal Crossing: City Folk, the first Wii game to allow voice chat with mates across the internet, but only if you buy Nintendo’s WiiSpeak microphone.
