With the iPhone’s App Store live, game developers are starting to pay serious attention to Apple’s handset, starting with EA. The games firm says it’ll be bringing a ton of new titles to the mobile.
Speaking at E3, Travis Boatman, EA’s vice president Worldwide Studios for Mobile, said the iPhone had generated “a lot of interest” around mobile gaming, and that EA was poised to capitalise on it.
We already know the firm will bring Spore to the iPhone, and that it’s launched its own Sudoku, Tetris and Screbble games on the App Store.
However, now EA says it will use the iPhone’s Wi-Fi connection to make multi-player games. Scrabble is a prime candidate, and the company plans to update it so iPhone owners can challenge each other wirelessly.
Boatman also revealed the company is planning to release Tiger Woods and Need for Speed on the iPhone. Put simply, we can’t wait.
