If the lure of Linux is too great, but you fancy switching out the Asus standard issue software on your Eee PC for open source darling Ubuntu then there’s a quick fix available - just grab a pre-loaded SD card.
For $50 you won’t just get a config free memory card, you’ll also be supporting the Ubuntu Eee project in the process.
The 4GB card comes with everything loaded up and ready to go - you don’t even need to install Ubuntu. Just slip it in and choose the SD card from the boot menu at start up. As the OS runs straight from SD, if you’re feeling brave you could even wipe the hard drive and use all of it for storage. The cards are available to pre-order now from the Ubuntu Eee project site.
Out TBC | $50
