If even the Elonex One T is looking a bit on the pricey side you could always pop over to Japan where you can pick up an Eee PC 701 4G for less than 50p.
True, it is one of the older Asus models, but that’s not where the price discount kicks in. Instead you’ve got to sign up for a mobile data contract that works out around £15-30 a month. You also get a 3G modem thrown in, so you can actually make use of all that broadband to go.
Asus is already toying with the idea of selling a 3G enabled Eee PC through the mobile networks – here’s hoping this shows there’s a market for subsidised mini notebooks out there.
