Yes, it’s been 30 years since Breville first discovered how to toast sandwiches, but now it’s not just students giving the British brand the thumbs-up, but top TV chef Anthony Worrall Thompson.
The fist sandwich toaster was a big hit with students in the 80s, who managed to eek out their grants by living on toasted baked bean and tuna sarnies. The latest TR52 Stainless Steel Sandwich Toaster, however, is much more streamlined and refined with a narrow form factor that can slip into drawers or stand upright at the back of a counter, while its inner toasting trays that were so difficult to clean before are now removable and dishwasher proof. No wonder Anthony Worall Thompson has put his name to half of Breville’s latest range of hi-tech kitchen kit.
