We loved Asahi for bringing us the quick pouring robot last week yet realise this tipple serving technology could serve a wider, more needy audience than those just in need of an alcoholic beverage.
Step up Care-O-Bot, a near five foot machine designed for hospital use that uses an array of sensors to deliver all manner of drinkage, whatever the brand.
Equipped with laser scanners, 3D vision and colour recognition cameras this robot can distinguish between many different shapes of drinking receptacle to deliver it to the thirsty with its three fingered arm with ease.
The robotic hands have sensors inside to stop it from grabbing too hard and with speech recognition on the way for the next prototype we reckon we are just months away from a Tom Cruise in Cocktail type affair that can serve up almost anything.
