With the power cord wound around its middle this lamp looks just like an original Duncan Yoyo, but it’s the size of a foot stool, so please don’t try ‘walking the dog’ with it.
German Designers Catarina von Matérn + Lisa Lindström came up with this playful lighting for Elmar Flötotto to solve the problem of what best to do with the electrical flex. In this case, the cable is 16 meters long, so you can roll the lamps just about anywhere. The 18-inch drum-shaped lamp is made of a durable transluscent Polyethylene that distributes a soft light, but it’s not durable enough to survive ‘the flying saucer’ or ‘barrel roll’.
