After O2 customer services told us not to expect our iPhone 3G until early next week, we’ve had an official response from the company: pre-orders will arrive on Friday, unless you live in the north…
Specifically, north of Aberdeen. If your postcode falls further afield than that particular Scottish town, you’ll have to wait until next week to unwrap your 3G handset.
O2 says: “Customers that were successful in the pre-order will receive their iPhone 3G on Friday. The only exception is customers who live in certain postcodes, north from Aberdeen who will receive on Monday.”
The fact remains, however, that our order is for delivery within the M25, yet customer services still claimed we’d have to wait until Monday at the earliest. Rest assured, we’ll be camped out by the letterbox on Friday, just in case.
What’s your experience? Have you chased O2 to see if you’ll join the 3G club on Friday? Let us know in the comments section below.

I will be at work hoping to find a card from DHL when I get home, then driving (within the speed limit) to my local depot … hopefully!
