The hardest PC monitor known to man or beast.Looking for a display that can take a bit of punishment without breaking down like a homesick Big Brother housemate? LG’s latest monitors employ an ultra-tough glass screen to shrug off bumps and knocks with ease.

Both the 19-inch L1942PP and 17-inch L1742PP boast screens with a 7H hardness rating, while regular acrylic-screened monitors can muster only 2H or less. How tough is that? Well, during testing LG apparently dropped a 1.2lb steel ball onto the tempered glass, and it escaped totally unscathed. Now, while most of us don’t go hurling bits of masonry and the like at our home PCs, LG reckons their monitors will find suitable homes in schools, Internet cafes, libraries and other public places.
