Despite all its troubles shifting iPhones online today, O2 has completely sold out of Apple’s new handset, telling disappointed shoppers to check back before the end of the week for more information.
A notice on O2’s website now reads: “Due to huge demand for the iPhone 3G we’re currently out of stock online. Come back on 10 July for more information.”
The sell-out took less than six hours, and was accomplished even with on-going problems with O2’s purchasing and upgrade systems.
At the time of writing, The Carphone Warehouse still has iPhone 3G stock, but how long that will last is anyone’s guess. Keep it here for more as soon as we hear it.
