The Brain Training series from Nintendo taught us videogames don’t have to turn your brain into mush, and that learning can actually be quite fun. They sold well, extremely well, so why is Ninty going to stop making them?
Despite topping charts two years after release and subconsciously educating thickies all over the world, the money making titles currently out could be the last.
Nintendo marketing director, Dawn Paine explained that the performance of the brain games means there’s no need for more.
“The idea behind More Brain Training is that people can move across to it once they have played the first one, and vice versa, and are looking for new challenges and training exercises,” Paine said.
“Given that both titles continue to perform well, there are no plans for any more titles in the series.”
Stopping a winning formula is a strange one for us. Can there be too much of a good thing? Let us know in the comments.
