A robot from the Hyogo Prefectural Institute of Technology has been created to strut down the fashion podium, could this spell an end to the front page antics of chain-smoking supermodels?
We’ve yet to see this mechanical diva donned in any collections and think by its stature that the clothes could well look a little baggy around the shoulders and it isn’t all that easy on the eye.
Standing at 160cm tall “Manekin Robotto” or fashion model robot moves itself with sixteen joints, able to cross and bend its legs controlled via a PC or pre-installed movements on an SD card.
News that it can be controlled by mobile phone too with a price tag of just $940 has us thinking this might be one that real robot lovers will be able to take out to dinner dates if the outer shell ever gets perfected.
