Getting a bunch of robots to collaborate with one another or “swarm” as the Tefal heads like to call it is no mean feat, so when the Technische Universität Berlin managed it with three helicopters a cheer went up around robot world.
The airbourne trio co-operated effectively enough to lift and transport a small load with the researchers claiming that the system could work with up to eight robochoppers.
If you managed to get this many Chinooks working in unison can you imagine what kind of stuff you’d be able to shift through the sky?
