We’re still not sure if this is real or fakeContrary to optimistic rumours, it looks like PS2 games won’t be coming to the PlayStation Network Store after all. It was rumoured the new service would be announced at E3 to go live at a later date, but according to Sony, that ain’t gonna happen!

A cheeky forum user posted an image resembling leaked PS2 store images, but there won’t be any such service, according to Sony.

“I’m not sure where the image came from,” said Sony’s Patrick Seybold, when probed by GamePro.

“At this point, we haven’t made any announcements, and there are no plans for PS2 downloadable titles on PS3.”

Despite what Sony bigwigs are saying, the forum poster still insists they got the image from an official Sony source, and that it will be announced at E3.

Could Sony be keeping mum over it? We’ll find out soon enough.
