Real or fake? With the videogame extravaganza that is E3, just around the corner the gaming rumour mill has gone into overdrive. The latest goss is that PS2 games will soon be added to the PSN store, ready to be zapped straight to your PS3.

According to a forum poster on N4G, a Sony insider revealed the PS3’s PlayStation Store will get a dose of PS2 action.

The rumour hints the new addition might be announced at E3, but go live later in the summer. It’s a bit suspicious, and could well be the mischievous concoction of an overeager photoshopper.

But given Sony’s recent mood (unveiling the new movie store and Life With Playstation) we wouldn’t be surprised if it turns out to be true.
