Apple’s desperate to appease the green lobby, and has even had a re-think over its packaging. The new iPhone will come in the most earth-friendly containers yet, in an effort to get Greenpeace and chums on-side.
According to Dutch tech blog Bright, Apple will use packages from PaperFoam to encase its new iPhone 3G.
The boxes are made from cardboard, with a starch tray inside to cradle the handset. The whole package will be fully recyclable, and PaperFoam says it represents a 90% reduction in the carbon footprint of its predecessor.
So that’s a cheaper iPhone, a faster iPhone, a greener iPhone, and one with GPS too. Apple fans must think Christmas has come early.
