Mitsubishi’s laser TVIt feels like we’ve been looking forward to laser tellies for ever, but now Mitsubishi is poised to unleash the first models this autumn.

The new technology inside the goggleboxes means ultra-sharp pictures can be projected onto the screen at 65 or 73 inches.

As well as gigantic images, the new screens will also boast twice the colour range of an LCD, for richer hues and brighter tones. Laser tellies are also very efficient, using around half the power of a similar-sized LCD, and a third of that used by a plasma TV.

Not convinced? They also boast wider viewing angles and deeper blacks, with the only downside being their depth. We’re talking TVs that’re ten inches deep. Still, unless  you’re hanging the telly on the wall, you’ll hardly notice.
