Someone at Garmin needs to tear a couple of pages off the calendar. April was months ago, but they’ve just unveiled their first dog-specific satnav system, perfect for pinpointing your pooch.
Dubbed the Astro GPS Dog Tracking System, its hub is the DC 30 dog collar, packing a GPS unit positioned on the back of the canine’s neck.
It’s designed to have a perfect view of the sky, so it’ll always lock on to satellites, and when used with the Astro 220 receiver, it’ll nail down your dog’s position to within metres.
It’ll work up to seven miles away too, so unless you’ve got a pet greyhound, you’ll be able to grab it before the distance between you gets too big.
Got more than one dog? The Astro system can track up to ten hounds at once. Perfect for that weird lady on everyone’s street with tons of animals, and not a clue about any one of their whereabouts.
