If the MSI Wind is your favoured little lappy, then you’ll be pleased to learn that Medion will be shifting out units with its own badge on through German Aldi stores. If you live in Germany, that is.
Available from the middle of next week, the titchy ten-incher could be yours for but €399 – that’s about £316 all in. Your four hundred euro-pounds buys you a 1.6GHz Intel Atom chop, 1GB of memory and an 80GB hard drive.
The Akoya Mini comes loaded with Windows XP and a copy of Corel Office X3 installed. The 10in display stretches to a resolution of 1,024×600 pixels and although Wi-Fi is baked in you won’t find Bluetooth or 3G for that price tag.
Here’s hoping a UK version turns up in Aldi’s discount aisles over here sooner rather than later.
