Even we admit getting too far ahead of ourselves with a possible science fiction Call of Duty, since we still have the next installment to take care of first. Call of Duty 5, otherwise known as World at War will feature Wii Zapper specific controls.
It certainly promises to be different, but speculation that the Wii won’t be accurate enough, or provide enough feedback have been shot down by Senior Producer, Noah Heller, who praised the team behind it all.
“It’s a special team at Treyarch - not some out-sourced team. Not some group living in another country. These guys live, eat and breathe Wii,” he said.
Stopped laughing? Good. He also said, “They’re doing a lot of control work and developing a lot of special technology to make sure you’re able to find the enemy as quickly as possible, and we’ll be supporting the Zapper.”
Whether the Wii controls will be a resounding success amongst COD’s army of fans remains to be seen, we’d hate to see one of our favourite titles go all gimmicky and end up playing like a mini-game. Fingers crossed Treyarch can do the business and top the amazing achievements in COD 4.
