Sony’s PlayStation 3 might’ve begun the year as the underdog in the console wars, but thanks to Metal Gear Solid 4, it’s beaten Nintendo and Microsoft into submission, at least in Japan.
Building on the success of the PSP in the Far East, Sony’s seeking to reaffirm its position at the top of the console league table, and it seems it’s achieved its aim.
The BBC’s also sitting pretty today, having seen off pesky hackers with an update to its iPlayer service. The natty on-demand TV portal had been hacked by unscrupulous Mac owners, but no more! An update means it’s now secure again.
Meanwhile, Motorola has let slip details of its brand new ZN5 handset, packing software from Kodak to make shooting, offloading and uploading pictures as simple as possible.
