Small, powerful … and available in goldTempted by the current wave of little laptops but need something with a bit more grunt? FlyBook could have just the thing for you with its V5 tilt and turn gold number.

With a US price tag pushing $3,000 you are getting into Macbook Air territory, putting it way above the cost of an Eee PC or similar.

However, you do get a far more powerful processor in the form of an Intel Core 2 Duo ULV U7600 rather than the Atom chip seen in the budget models.

It’s fully capable of tackling Vista, if that’s your thing, and you can spin the 8.9in screen round and use it in tablet mode as it’s touch sensitive. It also comes in a gold finish too, so at least everyone will know you’ve spent a load of money on it.

Out now | $2,900
