Enjoyed putting your Mii through its paces in Wii Sports? Good. Soon you’ll be able to do similar on the Xbox 360. Microsoft is planning to introduce its own brand of Mii-like avatars to Xbox Live, or so the latest rumours suggest.
According to the gaming nuts at Kotaku, top-secret documents leaked online point to avatars that will “provide a more lifelike, animated, and fully customizable persona.”
The confidential docs also say we’ll be able to play as them in “various arcade and retail games”. Quite what kind of games they’ll be popping up in is anyone’s guess at the moment, if all this is true.
Apparently there’ll be loads of clothing options, with the possibility of items being licensed. Note the avatar wearing a ‘The Incredibles’ shirt image above.
The move could also open up a new area of in-game merchandising. We can imagine clothing chains rubbing their hands together in glee already.
