How long does your phone take to recharge – an hour or longer, right? So how long do you think it takes for an electric car to recharge its battery fully. It has to be overnight, surely. But within the year it could be as little as 12 minutes.
Speaking at the Green Car Guide Live, Allied Vehicles says it’ll reach charging times of 12 minutes within the year, and that’s not for a family run-around – that’s for a whopping great electric bus!
According to Allied’s figures, a battery-fueled bus will run for around 60 miles after a 12 minute juice up.
However, transfer the technology to electric cars like the G-Wiz and the exhibited Cenex electric Smart car, and you’re looking at 100 miles of eco-friendly motoring, after just a dozen minutes at the plug socket. Now that’s the sort of eco driving we’re interested in!
