We’ve heard there’ll be inflatable cars on our streets soon, but now BMW says its next-gen motors will change shape too.
Check out its concept for a fabric-covered car that tweaks its frame to change its shape depending on the function.
Tap a button, and it could create a spoiler for more grip. Going a bit quick? The seats could morph to hold you tighter, or grow a larger headrest.
It’s called the GINA (Geometry and functions IN Adaptions), and works thanks to a lycra-liky stretchy fabric covering its metal skeleton.
The material used is both durable and weatherproof, and has the side-effect of making the car much lighter than a traditional motor. It also promises to be cheaper and more eco-friendly. Is there anything it can’t do? Check out the video below to see it in action.
