It’s lunchtime, so grab your eye cutlery and gorge yourself on everything gadget-shaped you’ve missed this morning.
Cameraphones are about to get a whole lot more interesting. Sony Ericsson’s poised to unveil its first ever 8 megapixel mobile, complete with a proper flash and tip-top video skills.
Is it enough to put Sony Ericsson ahead of the pack? Absolutely. Will it be the only 8 meg cameraphone when it lands towards the end of the year? Probably not. Still, you can take a look at it here. It’s not due to be unveiled officially until later this month.
Sticking with phones, the iPhone 3G looks like being the most secure mobile around when it launches next month. Word is Apple’s doing away with its home activation service, and you’ll need to get the handset registered in-store.
What does it mean? Longer queues, and a bit of faffing before you can take your beloved handset home. Oh, and less opportunity for hackers to crack it open for use on other networks.
Had enough of phones. We don’t blame you. Have a look at some next-gen Blu-Ray tech instead. Panasonic just showed us their BD50 player. It’s ultra slick, and one of the few to pack an internet connection for on-demand BD-Live content.
