Thought 3G speeds would let the iPhone download songs outside Wi-Fi hotspots? Think again. It seems Apple’s handset isn’t ready to spend your money just anywhere.
According to Musically, the iTunes Store can still only be accessed by the iPhone from a Wi-Fi hotspot.
It’s all down to music labels wanting to squeeze more money from your wallet, apparently. Word is that while Apple would love to sell tracks no matter how the iPhone taps into the store, labels want to charge a premium for the convenience of 3G.
Greedy? Err, yes. Just a bit.
