Robotic blockbuster - First pictures from The Surrogates?

We’ve stumbled upon these images and they appear to be the perfect pieces to play central characters in a forthcoming film called The Surrogates.

Not slated for release until late 2009, Bruce Willis will play the lead in this film set in the year 2054.

Technology has reached a point where instead of leaving their houses people stay at home and interact with the outside world with robot versions of themselves.

Its a bit Second Life really but without a computer environment and our robots, or Surrogates, drive cars, work, go out socialising and are even having sex on our behalf and all we’re getting is the feeling fedback through complex circuitry.

For just a few moments there I was getting on my soap box and about to bemoan the end of human life as we know it before realising that this is just a fictitious film from Disney and nothing more.
