iPlayer not enough for you? How about live BBC telly in a browser? That’s what Auntie has planned.
According to the MediaGuardian, BBC1 will go live online “within the next year” marking the first time viewers have been able to (officially) tune into the Beeb’s terrestrial channels without a telly.
We can already hear the ISPs complaining.
Still, there’s not much they can do about it at the moment. The BBC outlined its plans today in its annual statement of programme policy.
BBC director general, Mark Thompson, said: “Building on the success of the iPlayer, we want to develop bbc.co.uk to include a broad range of the BBC’s broadcast content, as well as new and interactive forms of media that enable audiences to interact with and contribute to the website.”
