The future is green, and the greenery is futuristic, according to Japan’s National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology. They’ve developed a houseplant that, on closer inspection, actually contains dozens of solar cells on the leaves.
They’re hoping to apply the same technology to houses, coating walls, windows and outdoor products with the environmentally-friendly stuff, so we can continue harnessing the sun’s rays, turning it into electricity for the house. Soon those pesky scientists will get us to strap panels on our backs!
