We’d almost given up waiting for movies to turn up on iTunes, but Apple surprised us this morning by piling tons of full length movies onto its download store, complete with rental and purchase options.
Titles like Batman Begins, I am Legend, Babel, School of Rock and Into the Wild are all available, as well as older titles, like Naked Gun 2 1/2, Caddyshack 2 and The Sixth Sense.
There are over 700 films in total, dwarfing the offerings from Microsoft’s Xbox Live service, and putting online rental rivals into the shade. 100 of the films are even available in HD.
It’s great news for anyone with an iPod, since it’s instantly the easiest way to grab movies to watch on the move.
There’s also an update available for Apple TV, allowing movies to be rented or bought direct from the living room.
Movie purchases cost £6.99 for library titles, and £10.99 for new releases. Movie Rentals are £2.49 for library titles and £3.49 for new releases. Films in HD quality cost just £1 more.
