Apple TV now hacked with any USB stick

June 4th, 2008

aTV lets Apple TV perform new tricksRemember that clever little USB stick hack? The one that let’s Apple TV perform all sorts of neat tricks it couldn’t do before, well it’s back in downloadable form, letting you turn any old USB stick into an aTV flash drive.

Previously available only on the $59.95 flash drive aTV can now be downloaded straight to your Mac for $49.95.

Rather than being bundled with a flash drive in the post, users will receive the software and instructions on how to create their own aTV dongle.

It’s dead simple and once completed is ready for use.

It lets users play DIVX, Xvid, AVI and WMV formats as well as watch iTunes vids and DVD files without converting. Not to mention streaming from other media servers, all on Apple TV.

Did we mention it doesn’t void your Apple TV warranty?

Out now | $49.95
