Siemens TouchSlide induction hobCupboard handles in kitchens have gone the way of the SodaStream, as have buttons on cookers according to Siemens. With its latest range of TouchSlide ceramic and induction hobs, you simply glide your finger along the surface to turn up the heat.

Pictured in this improbable-looking open-air kitchen is the EH 95S501E, a 90cm induction model, but there are five knobless hobs in the new range in all.

Each one is available in 60, 80 and 90cm widths and uses either a monoSlider or multiSlider to control the heat for one or all of the zones. There’s a temperature range of 17 settings for extra precision – you wouldn’t want to burn those baked beans now would you.

An LED display behind the glass surface adds a timer for each zone with an acoustic reminder and auto switch-off. There’s also a pause function that freezes the controls so that you can wipe the hob clean at the end of the day. And don’t worry, your spotless hob is finished in stainless steel trim to match the rest of your immaculate Siemens cooking appliances.
