Away from horror stories of videogames making people go loopy, it’s nice to hear of some of the good going on in the gaming world. This wheelchair-bound gamer was unable to play Rock Band properly, until a band of good-hearted modders came to the rescue.
See, Rock Band’s drum kit features a kick pedal. Not using it simply isn’t an option if you still want to enjoy the game, but isn’t possible for those in a wheelchair.
Still, that didn’t stop the folks over at Kinetic Communications from saving the day. They swooped to the rescue, adding a modified doorbell, complete with audio receiver and cable, to a drumstick. The system means disabled players can pound the virtual kit all days long, without needing mobility in their lower body.
Rock on. Is there anything modders can’t do?
