A monster patent document for Apple’s iPhone has shown up, listing Jobs as the inventor, and hinting at features planned from the start, but not yet released.
Most interesting is the mention by Apple of “modules” to add GPS and video conferencing.
However, there are also mentions of software not yet seen on the handset.
One diagram shows the iPhone sporting software for blogging on the move, as well as a dictionary widget, and a “user-created widget”.
Interestingly, the icon for text messaging also shows a speech bubble labelled “IM” hinting that Apple might yet be prepping instant messaging or iChat integration.
Of course, it’s all speculation until Jobs whips the covers off the next-gen iPhone. Still, with WWDC right around the corner, that could come sooner than ever.
