Bored of 3G iPhone rumours yet? No? Good because here’s another one: the latest tidbit doing the rounds is that it will definitely tout GPS, thanks to new FCC regulations.
A legal requirement inserted in by the American Federal Communications Commission means all phones must be able to report their location in case of emergency.
Reports suggest GPS company Broadcom will be responsible for putting in the all-important satnav chips inside the 3G iPhone, making sure it complies, as well as opening up a ton of new location-based services.
The battle with Android’s GPS-laden phones just got hotter than ever.
