We’re not sure whether to file this under chainsaws or garden sheers, but either way, this unique wood chopper from B&D can turn a fallen tree into neatly stacked firewood in minutes. Best of all, it’s cordless and safe enough to use without needing St John’s ambulance on standby.
It’s basically a battery-powered chainsaw that’s encased in a set of metal jaws that grip your unlucky branch as you clamp the long handles together. Our Alligator has chomped through everything in its path so far, and apart from regular battery changes (two are included), nothing can stop it.
It’s a little unwieldy in our feeble arms, but the plastic body helps keep the weight down and the battery helps counter the heavy metal business end. Unsurprisingly, this thing eats batteries as fast as it eats trees, but they charge quickly, so there’s no excuse for slacking off.
