Miele’s clever combo cookers spell an end to blackened bacon and charcoal chips thanks to the addition of steam. The stylish new built in ovens now combine steam with gas and electricity to bake the perfect pavlova. And if you don’t happen to be a celebrity chef, there are some idiot-proof presets to help.
The two new models, including the H 5460 pictured, match the absurdly well-engineered Generation 5000 line from the German appliance giant, adding steam into the mix via an external reservoir that plumbs into the water supply.
Just the right amount of steam is pumped in to add succulence to a roast pork belly, while crisping your crackling with dry heat afterwards.
Our favourite bit is the detailed LCD display that tells you how to cook like Gordon Ramsay without the swearing. The new ovens are available in stainless steel, black silver and the brand new titanium finish. You can see them for yourself at the Miele Experience Centre in Cambridgeshire.
