The Panasonic branded Evolta battery shares its name with, and is the power propelling, this seven inch mascot. In a shameless stunt they sent the distant relation of Sonic the Hedgehog up a 1700 foot rope to prove the staying power of alkaline batteries.
Okay so it took six hours 46 minutes to pull itself up by its hands and feet, travelling at just 0.3mph, and we doubt the spectators were keen to hang about for the duration, but considering there are batteries a-plenty out there that only power a Cappuccino whisk for a few froths it is a mighty impressive feat. No word as yet on the record time for its desceeeeeeeeent.
