We know 3’s working on its own broadband router, but now there’s another option: Billion’s simple router for sharing a 3G SIM.
The first product of its kind, the Billion BiPAC 7402GXL 3G router takes a mobile broadband signal from a USB dongle, then shares it with any devices in the house using Wi-Fi.
Simple, eh? And there’re some clever extras too. It’ll work as a standard router without the USB modem plugged in, and can be set to “failover mode” where it’ll kick the 3G dongle into action if your standard broadband line suffers a failure.
Compatible with Vodafone, T-Mobile, 3, Orange and O2, it’ll provide download speeds of up to 24Mbps using a standard phone line, or up to 14.4Mbps via 3G.
There are also four wired ethernet ports, for any non-wireless kit you have kicking around.
